You Won! Assisted Suicide Bill Is Dead

Friends,

On February 7 of this year we filed a letter of opposition in the hearing of SB 443 – the so-called “Aid in Dying” bill, otherwise known as Assisted Suicide.

The bill is dead.  Thanks to your voices and to the efforts of the MD Right to Life and Senators such as Mike McKay of Western Maryland, the legislation does not have the votes to make it through Committee.

I fought in opposition to this bill with my colleagues as a State Delegate, where it also died by a tie vote in 2019.  Now, it has once again died – this time in Committee.  The fact that we have Hospice where those with end-of-life pain can have medications that completely remove their pain is something that ethically avoids killing a human life.

Surprisingly, I was the only candidate for Congress in MD-6 on record opposing this measure even though it is consistently opposed in a bi-partisan vote, and opposed strongly by our minority communities.  As your next Member of Congress, I will alway stand firm for life, liberty and property of all.

Thank you for helping us almost reach our goal last night.  We came up about $1500 short.  We have just 29 days until this month’s filing deadline which will be published as an indicator of strength.  The outpouring of support is so encouraging.  Thank you.

For those who haven’t had the chance to chip in yet, now is the time.  Thank you.

Freedom and Victory,

Dan Cox, Candidate for Congress (R-MD6)

P.S. Almost forgot to let you know that we have reached over 75,000 primary voters individually and are poised to reach another 75k shortly, and this week our Dan Cox for Congress MAGA voter guide landed in the mailboxes of Western Maryland Republicans.  Thank you for funding the work!
P.P.S Did you see that Biden arrested an American journalist today?  He was accurately reporting on J6 and challenging the government narrative. This is a pure act of tyranny and violation of our First Amendment. Keep Steve Baker and family in prayer, and all our J6 political prisoners.  In Congress I will press for their release and pardon!

Here is the letter of opposition we submitted into testimony to oppose the bill.
