Bill of Rights Day – December 15, 1791.

Bill of Rights Day – December 15, 1791.Today is our Bill of Rights Day, remembering the freedoms we take for granted in the first 10 amendments to the Constitution.

Do you agree with me that we must defend our rights?  Those include: the right to speak freely without retaliation, to religious faith and practice, press, assembly and petition, right to keep and bear arms, right to security in our homes and papers from government invasion and seizure, right to a jury trial, to public trials, right to due process and fundamental liberty interests and so much more…
If so, I need your immediate contribution to win – click here.

Yesterday, Congress passed a violation of the Fourth Amendment, entitled FISA 702 – granting continuing power to spy on you without the warrant requirement under probable cause via an illegal and unconstitutional scheme.  This renewed extension of FISA 702 has been proven to have been previously used thousands of times in violation against Americans, including against President Trump.

As your next Congressman, I am the only candidate in this race committing to remove FISA 702 in the next defense bill.  I will not let you down – I will lead the fight to convince my colleagues to eliminate this unlawful and outrageous spying capability on American citizens.

And I have the experience to fight for you as I have:

>> Lead efforts to stop gun confiscation schemes in my Committee in Annapolis and Cross-examined into silence a former ATF chief trying to confiscate and register our firearms in the Maryland Judiciary Committee.
>> Been fighting for over 19 years in state and federal courts defending clients under our Bill of Rights – most recently winning two sidewalk counseling speech cases in Hagerstown.
>> Stood as the First and Only State Delegate in Maryland history to file impeachment proceedings against a Governor who had trampled the Bill of Rights by ARRESTING Maryland citizens merely for exercising them, all while being threatened myself by the same governor with ARREST for speaking for you if I left my home during his unconstitutional executive orders.  Not a single elected official joined me in this fight for YOU, but the impeachment effort won the praise of Marylanders and is part of Maryland history that We the People will not allow our God-given freedoms to be taken away by arbitrary government.

The lies in support of FISA 702 claim it allows stopping terrorists and those who enter our country illegally.  As President Trump’s former Director of National Intelligence, Rick Grennell, has stated, this is false – our law already allows such authority outside of FISA 702.  FISA 702 are secret courts.  Director Grennell stated this week “there should not be any clean extension of FISA 702 under any circumstances – not even for a single day!”   FISA 702 attempts to bypass the Fourth Amendment warrant requirement against Americans, not foreigners and terrorists.  Again, they used this vehicle illegally against President Trump himself, so you should be sure the radical Left Deep State will spy on you.

On 7 November 1963 – just 15 days before he was assassinated, President John F. Kennedy taped a commemoration of the Bill of Rights to be aired on December 15, 1963.  You can listen to it here and on the JFK Library website.

President Ronald Reagan said in commemoration of this day and our Bill of Rights: “As our Founding Fathers taught us…liberty depends not upon the state but upon the people. Liberty thrives in the free association of citizens in free institutions.”

President Donald J. Trump said last year on this occasion: “If we don’t have Free Speech, we just don’t have a country.  It’s as simple as that…That is why we must always defend our Bill of Rights. If we lose our right to speak freely, we lose every other right…like dominoes they all fall one by one.”  That is why he is running for re-election as our 47th President of the United States – to defend our country and Bill of Rights.  And that is why I am running to be your next Congressman.

Let us join together in the struggle and fight for our God-given Bill of Rights, lest we awaken one day and learn they are no more.

Freedom and victory,

Dan Cox, fmr. State Delegate (R-4)
Candidate for U.S. House of Representatives (MD-6)

P.S. I really do need your immediate contribution – if you agree with me that we must never give up our God-given freedoms.  Please stand with Valerie and me today in this race.  Thank you.
